2019 MORNING OF SERVICE
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2019
All ages.  All abilities.  All welcome.

Congratulations Immaculate Conception! On Saturday morning, October 26, over 300 parishioners lovingly provided over 800 hours of service to our local community. We participated in 27 different projects, both in the parish center and at agencies in Scotia- Glenville, Schenectady, Ballston Spa, and Latham. We made Christmas cards for active military, infant blankets and bibs for Northern Rivers Early Childhood Learning Center, memory book pages for Albany Med NICU, lap blankets for cystic fibrosis patients served by the Donna Crandall Foundation, and scarves for Bethesda House and SICM. Our Prayer Shawl ministry made and contributed prayer shawls for the Donna Crandall Foundation. We hosted the founder and leader of the Stars for Our Troops organization who led us in assembling packages of stars cut from retired American flags. These will be distributed to military, police and first-responders by the Stars for Our Troops organization in the future. We made meals for the Salvation Army Booth Home, City Mission, Jack’s Place and Habitat for Humanity. Our little ones creatively made or colored wreaths for our homebound parishioners. We visited residents at Baptist, Glendale, Guardian House and Heritage Home. We cleaned, sorted and organized inventory at the Regional Food Bank and Things of My Very Own. We painted at the Schenectady Day Nursery, Central Park Greenhouse and YWCA. We did yard work and/or washed windows for the Joan Nicole Prince Home, Jack’s Place, Towns of Ballston and Glenville. We cleaned vans for Catholic Charities Transportation Program, helped at the Parkside Y Oktoberfest and cleaned flush grave markers at St Anthony’s cemetery. We helped build at a Habitat for Humanity site.

‘It took a Parish’ of generous, talented and caring people to make this project a success. This event could not have happened without their generous contributions of talents and time. We hope we have not forgotten anyone in our expressions of appreciation below.
