Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. Abstinence binds all Catholics who are 14 years of age and older.
Fast binds all Catholics who are 18 years of age, but not yet 59. Abstinence refers to refraining from the consumption of meat. Fasting refers to the quantity of food eaten. Traditionally, fasting calls for only one full meal per day.

What is the Triduum?
The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery.
The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season. Our family of parishes will celebrate one Triduum - together as a community - with the liturgical services being held at Immaculate Conception. All are welcome.
The liturgical services that take place during the Triduum are:
- Mass of the Lord's Supper (Holy Thursday)
- Good Friday of the Lord's Passion (Good Friday)
- Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord (Easter Vigil)
