Dear Parish Members and Friends:

When I was in grammar school, I remember the times when we would celebrate the Christmas pageant each year.  It seemed most of my friends go the big roles:  Mary, a shepherd, one of the magi, and even one of the camels.  But not me.  I only got to be a tree, a rock, and one time the grumpy old innkeeper who shuts the door right Joseph's face!  What I truly wanted was to be an angel, like Gabriel, or Michael the Archangel.  But that never happened.  My disappointment left me feeling sad, and if I am honest, also unworthy.

But that was then.  Now I realize that Christmas, the birth of Jesus into our world, is for all of us.  Nobody is more important, nobody has a greater part to play, and nobody is better than another.  Jesus came for all of us.  He loves us all and wants us to love him back.  His birth is not a pageant, but rather a miracle:  God becoming flesh and blood like you and me!  This is Christmas! Read more....
